A starter kit for a faster turnaround when developing condition-monitoring solutions. Configure and read data from sensors before having to write a line of custom code.
Issue C · November 2025. Specification subject to change without notice.

Overview

A gateway running Linux, pre-configured with the Sensor-Works ReST API, lets you set up sensors and read and store vibration and temperature data — supplied with supporting files and documentation.

High performance

Outstanding measurement capability for verifying setups and sensor measurements.

Development starter

Verify, test and control sensors during code development before writing custom code.

Rugged

Suitable for harsh industrial conditions. Corrosion resistant; drop test 1.8 m (6 ft), IP65 water and dust resistant.

Wireless operation

Low-power radio and power management ensure long battery life.

What’s included

ItemDetails
GatewayRaspberry Pi 5 (SSD), power supply & cables — pre-loaded with the Sensor-Works ReST API application
Sensors2 × BluVib-M-ST-3, MEMS triaxial, fitted with a field-replaceable battery
Mounting2 × Magnetic Mounts for fast & portable mounting of the sensor
Sensor activation”ON” magnetic key to wake the sensor for measurement

Simple development start-up

Verify setups and sensor measurements straight out of the box.
1

Set up the sensor configuration via the API

Apply operating mode, sample rate and trace length.
2

Fix sensors to your machine or test rig

Use a magnet, or screw to a mount.
3

Wake the sensor using the "ON Key" magnet

Provided in the kit.
4

View sensor data

Vibration and temperature, via the built-in browser interface.
5

Power down sensors between development stages

Preserve battery life while not measuring.
Use the built-in browser interface to familiarise yourself with the gateway and sensor before writing your own application.

ReST API web interface

A built-in interface accessed from a browser. Sensors appear in the Devices list and can be added to the whitelist — click the Devices tab, then View.
ControlFunction
Operating ModeSets the operating mode by selecting one of the available options.
Sample RateSelects the rate (in Hertz) at which the signal is sampled.
Trace LengthThe number of data points to be sampled.
Wakeup IntervalTime (in seconds) the sensor sleeps. At the end of this period it wakes and performs a measurement using the Sample Rate and Trace Length.
Trigger Level(Wakeup+ only) Trigger level (g) at which the sensor wakes and takes a measurement.
Trigger Delay(Wakeup+ only) Number of data points to store before the trigger event.
SaveSaves the selected parameters to the sensor.
Connect / DisconnectIf autoconnect is disabled, connects or disconnects the gateway from the device (the device must be advertising to connect).
Start / Stop CaptureIn Manual Mode, instructs the device to start or stop measuring.
RestartRestarts the device software in the event of an issue.
Power DownTurns the device off; it can then only be reactivated using the magnet.
Factory ResetRestores the factory settings.
Clear All CapturesRemoves all stored data on the gateway for this device.
Previous / NextDisplays the previous or next measurement stored on the gateway.
ExportExports the time-series data for the current measurement as a CSV file.
